HANAN SECTOR

The upper part is purely ceremonial, organized around a plaza and with a large elongated enclosure facing south, in whose front wall there are four large niches. It has a single entrance from the plaza and is connected with four small enclosures aligned from north to south, also accessible from the plaza. In front, to the north, there are some structures that seem to have liturgical functions.

All that is in the highest part, which is 100 meters above the Urin square. About 20 meters below, there are a series of elongated “kallankas”, with their multiple doors, arranged on terraces and with their doors facing east. There are five in the same direction and one perpendicular. There are those who think that they could have been places to lodge numerous people, like those that form an army.
