URBAN PREASSURE

The Metropolitan Area of San Salvador extends between ancient and active volcanoes such as the San Salvador volcano and the Ilopango caldera. Their eruptive materials and sediments are the main aquifers that supply water to the area. The growth of the urban area and its consequent demand for water, endanger this water lung of the city.
